Powder coat is an application of an eclectically charged powder that is about the consistency of talcum powder that is magnetically attracted to a very clean base metal that is grounded. Once the powder is applied, the object is placed in an oven and baked to cure. The results is a finish that will not fade, peel or rust indoors or outdoors.

Gloss coats have a similar look as an automobile's shine and luster.

Texture finishes have the appearance found on most patio furniture.

There are several processes to get the final color on a piece. They are:

  • Heat color - bare metal which causes the color to vary. This is done in 1 step.
  • Color coated - bare metal, apply a gloss color or a mixture of colors. A clear coat cover is then applied for longevity of the color. There is a minimum of a 2 step process. For each color used, another step is added.
  • Texture - bare metal, apply powder coat and bake. This is done in 1 step.
